"Today, education is perhaps the most important function of state and local governments...it is required in the performance of our most basic public responsibilities...it is the very foundation of good citizenship...in these days, it is doubtful that any child may reasonably be expected to succeed in life if he is denied the opportunity of an education." |
Chief Justice Earl Warren, Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka (1954).
At the Center for School Law & Policy, we believe these words, written well before the first Elementary and Secondary Education Act, and long before the rise of today's highly competitive, global economy, are even more fundamentally true and compelling than ever before in our nation's history. As a provider of education and education law seminars across Georgia and the Southeastern United States, it is our singular purpose to offer guidance and training to educators as they strive to balance the many competing, complex and sometimes conflicting federal and state laws governing education today. We hope that by equipping educators with a clearer, more accurate and practical understanding of school law, they may more effectively and efficiently carry out their "most important function."
Please feel free to review our schedule and calendar of upcoming events, and to contact us if you have a request for a specific topic or training you would like to see offered in your area.
